My name is Maddie Balfany, and I am serving as the 2018 Recruitment Chair for Kappa Chapter of Chi Omega. I’m glad you visited our page to learn more about us and that you are interested in going through formal sorority recruitment. Recruitment week is a week to discover a place where you belong, a place to make memories, and a place where you can find a home away from home. I found all of this and more in Chi Omega.
It’s crazy to think that just three short years ago, I was in your shoes making the decision on which sorority I wanted to join. The Greek community at UNL is filled with wonderful, amazing, and supportive women. Enjoy the journey that you are about to embark on. When I was going through recruitment, I knew I wanted to join a sorority that would help me further my involvement on campus, give back to my community, help me develop my career, and enjoy my 4 year here. Chi Omega has done this and more by surrounding me with likeminded women who inspire me to make the most out of my college experience.
Opening my bid card and seeing “Chi Omega” could not have put a bigger smile on my face. Being a part of this great sisterhood has been one of my favorite experiences in college. The women in this house have become my best friends, my roommates, my supporters, and my role models. They have encouraged me to join organizations that I would never have thought about joining and have inspired me to pursue passions and dreams. As I approach my senior year I can’t help but reflect on the late-night laughs on the living room couch, the countless Applebee’s dates (half price after 9), study nights, Husker game days, and chats on the way to class. These are some of my favorite memories here at UNL, and they would not exist without my sisters in Chi Omega.
I can't wait to open the red door for you this coming August.
